
About the Author

The author grew up in the panhandle region of Lancaster County, SC, and graduated from, what was then, a small rural high school named Indian Land. Starting in the 1980s, the area experienced some of the most rapid growth in the state.
Don's formal education included graduating from North Greenville College, Newberry College, and Winthrop University. He earned degrees in History/Political Science, and Psychology, and post graduate degrees in Education Administration. His career as a high school teacher in Chester County, SC, teaching Psychology, History, and other related subjects lasted 31 years.
He served in the U.S. Army, active duty, for three years. One year of his service, 1968-1969, was spent as an Automatic Weapons Platoon Leader in Vietnam. He received a Bronze Star for his service during his tour of duty there.
The author has retired and moved back to the area where he grew up in Indian Land, SC.
